I Made A Doll Inspired By Jon Snow From The Game Of Thrones

I’m a dollmaker from Latvia, now based in Spain and I enjoy sewing personalized dolls of known characters from films, books etc. I started doll making about three years ago and since then I’ve made around 150 dolls (without counting the soft toys).

So… Being a huge fan of Game of Thrones and the Season 6 approaching, I decided (finally!!) to start creating a new series of art dolls inspired by my favourite/most popular/interesting characters of this saga. My inspiration source are both: the TV series and the books by George R.R. Martin (yes, I’ve read them all!)

The Jon Snow inspired doll is the first one I created. As the author and the HBO are still torturing us without telling what is going to happen with Jon, I thought it would be a good moment to immortalize him in the form we used to see him: as the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. This doll is made of vintage and found materials: vintage upcycled genuine leather, fur, cotton, black denim etc. I designed all the pattern pieces of the clothing especially for this doll.

I’ll be posting more dolls I’ve created inspired by the Game of Thrones! And I’m talking about Ygritte, Khal Drogo and Daenerys… Stay tuned!

Winter is coming…

The Jon’s doll is 31cm/12 inches high and I used my own doll pattern

I paid much attention to the details, for example, the belt; also as the former Lord Commander he’s got the key of the Wall

A photo from the process…

The cape is detachable

This doll is partly sewn with sewing machine, all the smaller details are sewn by hand and the face is hand embroidered
